Porcelain Veneers

A porcelain laminate (or veneer) is a thin shell of porcelain that covers the front of each tooth. They bond directly to the front of the tooth, similar to the way artificial fingernails work. Each porcelain laminate is a work of art, carefully crafted in a laboratory to fit your individual smile.

One of the biggest benefits of porcelain veneers is that you can a total smile restoration without damaging your natural teeth. Veneers are stain-resistant, allow you to eat and have the lifestyle you’re accustomed to and require the same basic care as your natural teeth.

VELscope® Oral Cancer Screening

Oral Systemic Link

Having healthy teeth is part of the key to having a healthy body. Periodontal disease, or gum disease, is found in some form in 3 out of 4 Americans with 30% of those cases being more severe. The bacteria in the mouth can enter the rest of the body through saliva, the bloodstream, and aspiration into the lungs. Thus, increasing risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, abnormal birth weights, diabetes, and kidney problems.

In our dental practice, we treat periodontal disease and our hygienists are trained in providing laser bacterial reduction. This procedure helps eliminate bacteria from the gum tissue surrounding the teeth, thereby, helping increase healing and decrease risk of more significant medical problems.

CariFree® Cavity Screening

Recent findings have shown that sometimes good oral hygiene isn’t enough to stop cavities. Tooth decay is caused by a bacterial infection known as dental caries. Acids from sugars, foods, or medications can cause an oral environment at risk for cavities that can be measured with new PH detecting technology known as CariFree.

Dr. Kutsch promotes long-term dental health as an alternative to simply treating signs and symptoms by filling cavities. Dr. Kutsch can perform a quick, painless one-minute screening to determine your risk for cavities. If harmful decay-causing bacteria are identified, treatment of this infection may be recommended.

The medication fights the infections. It’s that easy.

With no dental insurance, I looked for a dentist that would be familiar with implants, to get a second opinion and hopefully a lower cost for the implant I was told I needed by my primary dentist in Salem.
I found Dr. Kutsch and made my appointment on-line, and got an appointment almost immediately (I was in pain). I was ushered in within 5 minutes of my appointment time for a quick and painless panoramic x-ray, and then seated in the examining room. A few questions from the assistant re: my health status, etc., and Dr. Kutsch came in, introducing himself as Carson. He verified some info with me about my problem, did a quick exam of my mouth and then showed me what he was seeing in the x-ray images. The cool thing was that the computer was positioned so that I could very easily see the screen and follow exactly what he was seeing and saying!
Imagine my surprise when he told me that he did not see that it would be necessary to go to an implant, and that he would recommend saving the tooth with a crown replacement! This would of course be less invasive, less costly, less painful and less time-consuming and he predicted the potential for it being a successful medium or long-term solution at over 80% probability. Add to this that if it failed anytime within a 3 year period, he would credit the amount paid for the crown to the next level of intervention.
