Family dentistry-Then and Now

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Most of us can remember our first dental appointments and the anxiety that accompanied those experiences. Today, our younger patients (child patients) don’t have the same types of experience with dentistry. As we have increased our magnification, implemented digital x rays, and changed to more conservative materials, the process of getting a dental filling is no longer a traumatic experience. Today’s fillings are smaller, require less anesthetic, and often lead to a shorter appointment time. Thus, our younger patients often enjoy their visit to the dentist and have teeth that will be in much better condition for the long term. Carson Kutsch Dentist Albany Oregon www.drkutsch.com

At our practice, we really focus on serving the needs of an entire family. Whether you are interested in cosmetics, filling in missing teeth or just having your child’s teeth cleaned, we can accommodate almost every need. Our team is very experienced in working with the youngest children up to great-grandparents in their late nineties. We extremely enjoy getting the opportunity to see everyone in the family and establishing a relationship with everyone. Please feel free to bring along any young kids to your own cleaning and we can get them familiar with the office before they have their turn. On the other hand, if you don’t have family nearby, we have several patients who routinely stop by for a cup of coffee or to just talk about life. We feel very priviledged to be here in Albany, Oregon. You are welcome to join us and we are here to serve you in any capacity. Carson Kutsch Albany Oregon Dentist www.drkutsch.com

At what age do I take my child to the dentist?

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Patients ask me this question all the time. Technically, as soon as your child has teeth it would be good to take a look at things. However, most parents begin bringing their child to the dentist around the age of three. We usually recommend that the child accompany their parent to the parent’s cleaning so that they can see the office, ride on the chair, and become familiar with my team. This makes it more comfortable for the day when we actually clean the child’s teeth. The age at which the child first comes to our office is less important than ensuring that they have a great experience and a lifetime of anxiety free dentistry. We love treating children at our practice and really enjoy seeing them grow. If you have questions about your child, please feel free to call. Carson Kutsch Albany Oregon Dentist www.drkutsch.com
